Frequently Asked Questions

Is this a primary care practice?

No, Dr. Khama Ennis is not a primary care physician. The care provided will compliment the care you receive from your PCP. You need a PCP for overall care coordination and to ensure that you keep up with annual screenings.

What kind of conditions can lifestyle medicine treat?

The vast majority of chronic medical conditions can be addressed with lifestyle medicine. This includes Diabetes, Inflammation, Insomnia, Hypertension, GI problems, Obesity, High Cholesterol and more. Addressing these issues at the root cause can lower your risk of cardiovascular disease and other causes of premature death and disability.

People who haven’t been diagnosed with chronic conditions can optimize their health with lifestyle medicine as well. We can work to improve your energy and wellbeing while reducing the likelihood of developing chronic illnesses.

Do you prescribe pain medication?

I do not prescribe opioid pain medications. If pain is one of your concerns, we will work with on addressing the root causes in order for you to need less prescription medication.

Are HSA/FSA cards accepted?

Yes, HSA/FSA cards can be used as long as they are issued by one of the major card brands (Visa, Discover, Mastercard or Amex). However, it’s also MCC (merchant chain code) dependent. If the MCC doesn’t align with a business that should be accepting HSA/FSAs, it could fail. Check with your insure to be certain.

Why don’t you take insurance?

I want to spend my time focused on providing the care you need rather than devoting countless hours and resources to the insurance industry. After a visit, you can generate a superbill to submit to your insurer for reimbursement if they offer that option. It should also count towards your annual deductible. You will need to reach out to your insurer to understand the possibilities.
